A Certified Passive House and zero energy design, this house is perched on the east side of City Creek Canyon with views of the State Capitol, the LDS temple, downtown SLC and the Great Salt Lake. Notable energy features include a SIPS roof, double-stud walls, drain water heat recovery, heat recovery ventilation, air to air heat pumps for heating/cooling, a triple-pane European window package and solar panels to offset energy use.
This house has been designed to provide zero-step entry, meaning a wheelchair can easily gain entry to the house. This is an aging-in-place design feature that we provide on some projects. One of the neatest things about the design is the slide from the loft down to the living room.
